William Patrick

June 23, 1947 — September 20, 2024

William Leroy Patrick, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away with his family by his side September 20th, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and love for his family and community.

Born in Rumford, June 23, 1947 in Oxford County, Maine, William was predeceased by his father, Walter Patrick Sr.; his mother, Ruth Patrick; and his brother, Walter “Wally” Patrick Jr.

William served honorably in the Army National Guard, where he was discharged on August 9, 1975. He went on to build a successful career as a maintenance and production manager, overseeing operations at several power and chemical plants throughout Maine. In addition, he was a talented mechanic and millwright.

William is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Susan Patrick; their three children, Kelly Gott, Kimberly Lefebvre, and Nathan Patrick; siblings, Gloria Buotte, Beverly Whittemore, Nonie Tidwell and John Vaughn; as well as 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Bill, as he was affectionately known, was a proud member of the Eagles Lodge, an avid golfer, and a man with a lifelong passion for anything with a motor. When he wasn’t spending time with his family, he could often be found on the golf course or working on his prized possession, a 1957 Dodge Coronet he named "Geraldine." One of Bill’s greatest joys was showing off Geraldine at the Andover Olde Home Days parade, an event he participated in with pride.

Gifts in Bill’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD. 21741

A Celebration of life will be held from 12-3pm, Sunday, September 29, 2024 at the Elks Lodge, 37 Fourth St. Old Town, Maine
