WILLIAM C. COX
VEAZIE & GREENBUSH - William C. Cox “Bill”, 74, died June 12, 2016 at a Bangor healthcare facility after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 12, 1942, the son of Linwood E. and Alice M. (Young) Cox.
Bill graduated from Old Town High School, Class of 1960. Following graduation, he worked at International Silver in Connecticut before being drafted into the Vietnam War. While in the military, he married his first wife, Janine Thibodeau of Old Town. After the war, Bill settled in Greenbush and worked for Eastern Maine Medical Center as a boiler operator for many years. He married his second wife, Erlinda Torres in 2002. Bill enjoyed hunting, watching the Red Sox, and had a passion for Harley motorcycles. He was a member of the AMVETS association and the American Legion, Tedd-Lait Post 75, Old Town. Bill will be remembered most for the love he had for his family and his sense of humor.
In addition to his parents, Bill is predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Sharon; and a brother, Earl Cox. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Erlinda Torres, are a daughter, Denise Goodin and husband, Peter; a step-son, Miguel Torres; grand-daughters, Melanie Cox, and Amanda White and husband, Josh White; great-granddaughters, Nataley White, and Maria Torres; a brother, Linwood Cox Jr.; a sister, Frances Burr; and a special friend, Jeff; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services for Bill will be held 11 AM, Saturday, June 18, at the Greenbush Cemetery, Greenbush. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.memorial-alternatives.com
