BANGOR
Virginia “Ginny” LaFond entered into eternal rest on November 24, 2019. She was born May 8, 1937 in Stoneham, Massachusetts, the daughter of Francis and Grace (Curtis) LaFond.
She grew up in Wakefield, Massachusetts and moved to Belfast, Maine in 1947. She attended Crosby High School, graduating class of 1955. Ginny moved to Bangor in 1959 and worked at Eastern Maine Medical Center for more than 28 years in the Operating Room and Labor and Delivery. She also worked at New England Home Health Care for six years and two years at Bangor Mental Health Institute.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceasd by a stepson, Jeff Rudom of Bangor.
Ginny is survived by two daughters, Marie Cross and her husband, John of South Portland, Susan Tardif of Plymouth, MA; son, Mark Matheson of Bangor; four grandchildren, Allison, Hannah, Jonathan, Samuel; one great-grandchild, Jonathan Jr.; brother, Leslie LaFond and his wife, Nancy of Ogunquit.
Services will be private for the family.
