LEVANT - Shirley Ramos, 72, passed away after a short battle with cancer on Saturday, January 22, 2022, in Bangor, Maine. She was born November 12, 1949, in Tamcliff, West Virginia, the daughter of Alva and Rita Philips.
Shirley lived in Cleveland and graduated from Collinwood High School, Class of 1968. That same year, Shirley married her husband, Jim. They moved to Maine in 1980. She graduated from the University of Maine in 1995 earning an Associate degree in Early Childhood Development with a primary focus on autistic children. She also was the Children’s Ministry Director at Abundant Life Church for many years.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Jim; sister, Fay Zavatski; nephews, Shawn, Aaron, and Eddie, along with her daughter-in-law, Jen; her adopted grandson, Ivan; adopted granddaughters, Deserie and Makayla; and her God-daughter, Lisa.
All who knew Shirley are welcomed to a memorial service held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Harvest Chapel of Levant Village. An early buffet dinner will be served after the service.
