SEBEC - Sharon Anne LaChance Knox-Manley, 72, beloved wife of Pam Manley, passed away December 20, 2018 after a long illness. Her beloved Pam of 29 years and her family were by her side along with her fur babies.
On October 7, 1995 Sharon married Pam Manley and together they built their home and life together in Sebec, Maine over the last 29 years. Sharon loved being at home in the summer, spending time by the pool, and loved having family in for bbqs and holiday meals. She also loved to crochet and scrapbook and created many gifts for her family. Sharon and Pam traveled together and visited Amsterdam, Las Vegas, San Antonio, Florida, and others. But she loved spending a week at North Truro on the Cape every October most of all. She loved walking on the beach, picking up sea shells, watching the spectacular sunsets, and drinking Kahlua with her mother-in-law. She also went to Pittsburgh, Louisville, and Minneapolis for the US Transplant Games.
She married Robert Knox Jr in 1964 and they raised 4 children together in Arundel and Biddeford. Sharon served as scorekeeper in youth baseball for many years and was actively involved in her children’s lives. She was a CNA at a local nursing home and was ward clerk at Maine Medical Center’s neonatal unit. She also worked at Nike, which her children remember well because of the shoes she brought home for them. Sharon and Robert divorced but remained great friends.
Sharon was born on June 6, 1946 in Brunswick, Maine to Irenee and Venise LaChance. She attended schools in Topsham and Brunswick.
Sharon is survived by her beloved wife, Pam Manley of Sebec; her children, Tami Knox of NH, Robert (Karen) Knox of Augusta, ME, Tina (Ernie) Clement of Cohoes, NY, Heather Hayes (Brian Grentham) of Winthrop, ME; 11 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren whom she cherished. She also is survived by her sister, Vonnie Drown of Bartlett, TN, and brother Scott (Caroline) LaChance of Biddeford; half-sister Judith Shows of Louisiana; father-in-law, Joseph Manley of Connecticut; sisters-in-law, Karla (Charlie) Aniskiewicz of Georgia, Tina Manley of Connecticut; and many neices and nephews.
Sharon was predeceased by her granddaughter, Alisha; great-granddaughter, Sydney; her parents, Irenee and Venise Lachance; brother-in-law, Doug Drown; mother-in-law, Edie Manley; and sister-in-law, Patty (Bruce) Terrio. She will be greeted at the rainbow bridge by all her furbabies that have crossed before.
Sharon will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She will be remembered for her love of family and her kind and giving heart. She will also be greatly missed by her fur babies, Joie, Kittoo, Zoie, and Zumbha.
Special thanks to Dawn Munson, Kali Thompson, Dr. Thibault, and Community Home Health and Hospice Services of Dover-Foxcroft for their loving support and care to Sharon and family.
