Robert Jacques

Bangor - Robert L. Jacques, age 72, of Bangor passed away Monday, April 10. Bob was a 1963 graduate of Bangor High School. A young mischief-maker, Bob was sent so often to the principal's office that he began dating the principal's student helper, Sally Goodridge. The high school sweethearts married a year after graduation and shared their lives happily for over a half-century. Bob worked as a salesman throughout New England for various companies, including his own. He knocked on so many doors during his career that he developed countless friendships across the state. A former amateur drag-car racer, he was often found in his garage repairing classic cars. Bob was a traditional family-man whose frank conversations, playful humor, and infinite generosity will be much missed by his family and many friends.

Predeceased by his parents, Charles and Madeline Jacques, and his sister, Sandra Donovan, Bob is survived by his wife, Sally; his son, Ryan, and family Jeanne, Matt, and Mike of Hermon; his daughter and grandson, Nicole and Kaelan, of Belfast; and his sister-in-law, Carolyn Miller, and her fiancé, Dale Nelson, of Hamden.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held Friday, April 14, from 4pm to 7pm at Spectacular Event Center, 395 Griffin Road in Bangor.
