ARGYLE – Paul W. Roy, Sr. 83, passed away June 2, 2018 in the home that he built for his family in Argyle, Maine. He was born in Old Town, Maine on March 1, 1935, the son of Louis J. Roy, Sr. and Alma E. (Rustin) Roy. Paul enjoyed woodworking, playing cribbage, gardening, camping, hunting, fishing, and sitting around a fire pit. Later in life Paul became an avid NASCAR fan. A master carpenter, Paul worked as a foreman for P.J. Sulinski and Sons for most of his career. Paul is survived by his wife of 38 years, Betty, and his children Karen Bond, Patti Rapaport, Linda Reid, Paul Roy, Jr., Dawn Closson, and stepson Troy Ellingwood, twelve grandchildren, sisters Jane Copley, Judy Roy, Marcia Osborne and Brenda Higgins; many nieces, and nephews; and special friend Freddie Carr. In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by brothers Dana, Irl and Joe; sisters Beth, Lois, Sara and Avis and stepson Terry Ellingwood. The family expresses their gratitude to Troy Ellingwood and Irene Burton for their support and loving care and to the staff at VNA for hospice services.
