Pamela Jean (Hawkes, Curtis) Dobson**
**1959 - 2024**
With profound sadness, and a heavy heart, we share the news of the passing of Pamela Jean (Hawkes, Curtis) Dobson of Sangerville , Me. , who left this world at the age of 64, on March 2, 2024, at EMMC Bangor, after a brief illness. In her final moments, Pam was embraced by the warmth of her family's love, as they held her hand and talked to her until the end.
Pam was born on June 8th 1959 into the loving arms of Mary (Hawkes) Downs and Millard Hawkes Sr. in the small town of Hartland, Maine, Pam’s journey began. Her life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and unwavering strength, woven through her years growing up in Pittsfield and Waterville . Pam’s early professional life was marked by her spirited , kind hearted soul. As she was a social butterfly she worked for Mr. Donut and Harris bakery in Waterville before moving on to the CF Hathaway Shirt Company. Where she worked as an expeditor. Soon with her passion to help people she became a Union Representative for many of her hard working co workers. Later she found her calling in advocacy and community organizing with Unite in New England. In this time she met many special friends such as Debbie Conrad , Maria Gonsalves and Melvin Gonzalez and many many life long friends.
To relax Pam loved to hunt with her Dad in their favorite spot in Troy where her son Tony tagged along and learned to hunt with them. She enjoyed camping with Amie , Tony and Bob. Many summers they went kayaking and hiking up Small Falls. She loved the nature around Maine.
Pam embraced the serene life of early retirement on her beloved farm in Sangerville, where she spent countless hours with her husband Rick. They planted gardens and canned many of the vegetables they grew. She also enjoyed raising a variety of chickens, ducks and peacocks. They were her babies specially Rommie, her Shih Tzu that she would boast about as they greeted you whenever you came to visit.
Pam also loved to brag of her grandchildren, Anthony Curtis , Abigail Russell, Jazmyn Curtis, Kyle and Kody Conley.
Pam had a spirited, kind-hearted, generous and a compassionate personality. She leaves behind a void in the hearts of those who knew her, yet her memory will be a beacon of light and love.
She is predeceased by her father, Millard H. Hawkes Sr., and her grandparents Harry and Mabel Campbell, Harry Hawkes and Adilaide Morse.
Her memory will be forever held in the hearts of her husband, Richard Dobson Sr., her mother Mary Downs and step Dad Jack, her children; Anthony (Amy) Curtis and Amie Marquis; her treasured g randchildren named above ; her siblings; Nancy Curtis of Oakland, Becky Hachey of Waterville, Patty Sweeney of Fayette, Cathy Seguin of Clearwater FL., Millard Hawkes Jr. of Winslow, Chris Curtis of Monmouth. Friend and father of her children Ex husband Bob Curtis of Carmel. Many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and a tapestry of friends who were blessed to know her.
We invite you to join us in commemorating Pam’s life on Saturday, March 23, 2024, 12:00 Noon at the Church of Faith, Skowhegan, Maine, with a service led by her Uncle Reverend Peter Campbell, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Skowhegan Elks Lodge.
In memory of Pam, contributions may be made to a cause close to her heart, honoring her love for animals and nature. Her luminous spirit and profound kindness have left a mark on this world, and while we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the incredible life she led. May she rest peacefully, embraced by the natural beauty she so dearly loved.
