Michelle Pelletier

July 3, 1955 — June 14, 2020

Michelle Marie Pelletier, 64, of Bangor passed away on June 14, 2020 at a Bangor hospital after a 2-year battle with cancer. She was born in Charleston, SC, in 1955, the 6th of 10 children of Cyr P. Pelletier and Pauline Guy Pelletier of Ft. Kent, ME.

Michelle and her siblings traveled throughout the world as dependents of their Air Force pilot father, Cyr. As a child, she lived in Charleston, SC; Prattville, AL; Chesham, England; Wiesbaden, Germany; McGuire AFB, NJ; and Bangor, Bridgton and Hermon, Maine. She graduated from Bangor HS in 1973.

After graduating from the Massachusetts College of Art, she worked at Last Days Ministries in Tyler, Texas as an illustrator for their magazine. In 1992 she traveled to Brazil on a mission trip. Throughout her life Michelle loved to travel. She visited many exciting places - Hawaii, California, Florida, Idaho, North and South Carolina,
Prince Edward Island, but Norway was her favorite.

Michelle continued creating art throughout her life, excelling in oil and acrylic paintings. She also loved photography, hiking, kayaking, bicycling, collecting heart-shaped rocks, and spending time with her family and many friends.

She retired from the Bangor Daily News after a 17 year career.

Michelle is survived by 5 sisters - Virginia, MG, Gloria, Patti and Andrea; 4 brothers - Charlie, Paul, Peter and Joe; 2 sisters-in-law - Kristie and Ellen; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.
Michelle would want people to know most importantly that she was a Christian who looked with longing for that day when she would meet her savior, Jesus. She will be greatly missed by those of us who remain.

Services celebrating Michelle Pelletier’s life will be held at The Rock Church, Bangor, on Saturday, June 20 at 4pm.
