Harrington - Mary Elaine (Danforth) Pinkham, 85, passed away December 15, 2020 at her home due to heart complications. She was born January 20, 1935 in Bangor, the daughter of Mary Louise (Wood) Danforth and Clyde Danforth.
She lived in Maine all her life. She attended Brewer High School & a nursing program in Portland. She was a stay-at-home wife and mother until the 1980's when she went to work for the school system in Harrington, where she worked in the kitchen until retirement. Later during her retirement, she volunteered for the Senior Companion Program, visiting other elderly people. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church and parishioner of St. Michael's in Cherryfield.
She was a much-loved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Family was an important part of her life. She loved to visit, be at family gatherings, phone calls and video chats. She enjoyed cooking, reading, watching old movies, listening to music, feeding and watching the deer and birds at her house and going to the ocean. She loved animals and throughout her life she took in many animals, providing them a wonderful home. She enjoyed spending time with her best friend, Laura, shopping, going out to eat, or just visiting. Everyone has so many precious & personal memories of her and their time together. She was a kind and loving person who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Clinton F. Pinkham and sister, Virginia Danforth Scammell.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Pinkham-Betters, of Brewer, and Juli Folsom and husband CL, of Salem and their fur babies; grandchildren, Jamey Gaddis and partner, Amanda Fickett, of Columbia, Danielle Reardon and husband, Joshua, of Eddington, Bridgette Betters and her fiancé, Jeff Wilmore, of Lodi, CA; great-grandchildren, Britni Osborne and husband, Bryce, of Goose Creek, SC, Santana Perry and partner, Josh Curtis, Gardiner, Ashton and MacKenzie Reardon, of Eddington, and Ryder Gaddis, of Columbia; sisters, Marlene Libby and husband, Ken of Holden, and Susan More and husband, Ricci, of Holden; brother, Douglas Danforth and wife, Rose, of Brewer; several nieces and nephew; her very best friend, for over 50 years, Laura Strout, of Harrington and her beloved cat, Howie.
Services and burial will be scheduled in the Spring.
