Lois B. (Grant) Ayer, 89, of Bangor, Maine and formerly of Searsport, passed away on May 10, 2017 in Bangor, Maine.
Lois was born in Pelham, MA to Loyal and Dorothy (Moulton) Grant on November 28, 1927. She graduated from Thornton Academy in Saco in 1946. On August 6, 1946 she married her loving husband of 60 years, Vernard “Tiny” Ayer. For many years she managed a yarn shop in Searsport, and she was an accomplished quilter who shared her beautiful work with family and friends.
Lois is survived by her four children, Anne Marriner and her husband Steven of Portland, Edward Ayer of Monroe, Marsha Powers and her husband Brady, of Cape Canaveral, FL and Peter Ayer and his wife Millie, of South Paris. She has six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and was loved by several other step-great and great-great grandchildren and special friend James Milliken. Lois is preceded in death by her husband Vernard.
