Laurel Ann Johnson, 53, passed away September 15, 2015.
She is survived by her five sisters Pamela (Penny) Johnson, Lynn Costello (Pete), Laurie Psychowski (Frank), Terri Pascarella (Carl), Lisa Orlowski (John), and two brothers: Wayne Johnson (Jennifer) and Roger Kent and fourteen nieces and nephews: Ian Worster (Amanda), Ryan Worster, Peter Costello (Leah), Stephen Costello, Kelly Johnson (Bob), Heidi Johnson (Dan), Benjamin Johnson, Matthew Psychowski, Carol Psychowski, Alana Kent, Andrew Pascarella, James Pascarella, John Orlowski Jr., Drew Orlowski. She also loved animals very much, especially her dog Job.

Laurel was born in Bar Harbor but lived in Bangor until her fourteenth year. The family then moved to New York where Laurel attended Hendrick Hudson High School and Purchase College in Westchester.

After college, Laurel spent many years in New York, Toronto and Los Angeles as an actress. She then worked as an event manager at Wolfgang Puck Special Events until she returned to her beloved Maine in 2002. She worked as a Special Event Coordinator, General Manager and Director of Sales at various coastal resorts.

She was an active member of her church and especially enjoyed bible studies and home groups. She was a member of the Everyman Repertory Theatre Company in Camden and loved acting and directing in several of their plays. She spent her recreational time on Mount Desert Island, kayaking, biking, hiking and enjoying Acadia National Park, one of her favorite places in the world, with friends and family.

Funeral will be held 2pm Saturday, September 19, 2015, at the Rock Church, Ohio Street, Bangor, with reception to follow. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.Memorial-Alternatives.com.
