Larry H. Land, 62, passed away June 26, 2015, following a long illness. He was born on March 27, 1953 in Detroit Michigan.
Larry was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and son.
Larry graduated from George Stone Vocational School. He was a lifelong Baptist. Larry served our country in the United States Air Force from 1971 to 1975 during which time he served in Vietnam, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was also Security Specialist for which he received two Medals of Honor.
Larry was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Otha Huel and Mattie Mae McCoy, and his paternal grandparents Wiley and Effie Land.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Mae (Pelkey) Land of Millinocket; three daughters, Tracy Lee Land and her significant other Gary Whittington II of Brewer, Tina Lee Land and her significant other Brian Whitmore of Caribou, and Tammy Lee (Land) Herr and her husband Keven Herr of Omaha, NE; four grandchildren Chelsea Rae Land of Caribou and Hunter Dean, Dakota Helena and Jacob Allen Herr all of Omaha, NE; one sister Lisa Land; and his parents Archie and Helen Land also of Omaha, NE.
Interment with military honors will be held on at a later date at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Caribou Maine, 37 Lombard Road, Caribou. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.Memorial-Alternatives.com.
