Judith “Judy” Elaine Alton, 85, of Hartland passed away the morning of November 7, 2024, at a Bangor hospital. She was born June 28,1939, in Waterville, the daughter of Myron Frederick Parker Jr. and Thelma Leora Pearl. She was raised by her adoptive father Maynard Coro in Clinton.
Judy was a resident of Hartland for close to 60 years. This is where she met and married her saving grace, her husband, Eugene “Tine” Alton. She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Hartland. She served on the town council for many years and helped build a very successful Tri Town food cupboard to serve many in need. She retired from KVCAP where she worked for over 35 years. Her interests included square dancing in her younger years with “Tine”, reading, playing cards, knitting, traveling, and being amongst friends and family. She was an animal lover and considered all her pets to be just as much a part of the family as her humans. Through all these endeavors, Judy gained many friends who became like family.
Judy is survived by 4 of her 5 children: Colonel (Dr.) Michael P Holway (wife Stef), Sharon Swain, Vaughn Martin (wife Laurie), and Rosalie Woods; brother John Coro; sister-in-law Cheryl Coro; and sister, Joan Tenney who she recently discovered through DNA testing. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Judy was predeceased by the love of her life for over 40 years, Eugene “Tine” Alton, her youngest child, Rhonda Martin, sister Suzanne Allgaier, brothers Robert Coro and Carl Coro.
She will be greatly missed as she left a big impact on the lives of many. A celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2025. Those who wish to remember Judy in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Tri Town Food cupboard, 9 Hubbard Ave, Hartland Maine, 04943
