Joseph Perreault

August 11, 1992 — July 11, 2021

JONESPORT - Joseph A. Perreault, 28, died unexpectedly in a motor vehicle accident July 11, 2021. He was born August 11, 1992 in Waterville, the son of the late Todd Perreault and Arlena Perreault Fickett.

Joseph enjoyed two passions, sports and catching lobsters. His love of sports began at a young age playing little league baseball, peewee basketball and soccer. As an adult he enthusiastically cheered on all teams “Boston”, especially the Red Sox and NE Patriots. His faithful companion “Duke” was named for his favorite college basketball team, the Blue Devils. He proudly worked aboard F/V Papas Pride beside his captain and friend Oscar Beal. In 2018, Joseph had the opportunity to captain his own boat, F/V Troubled Thoughts which he recently renamed the “Rita J. “in honor of his loving grandmother.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, Arlena Fickett and her husband, Joel of Addison, are his stepfather, Scott Ryan, of Jonesport; brothers, Nicholas Perreault, of Northeast Harbor, and Kristofer Ryan, of Warren; nephew, Jaxson Wade, of Milbridge; his “Bamp”, Harry Bishop and his wife, Edith, of Addison; uncles, Lewis Bishop and his wife, Melissa, of Lamoine, Terry Bishop and his wife, Jennifer, of Discovery Bay, California; cousins, Lance, Hayden, McKenna and Emily. Joseph also leaves behind his “chosen” family, his countless friends near and far. You each brought much joy to his life in your own special way. In addition to his father, Todd Perreault, he was predeceased by his “Gram”, Joanne Bishop; and his “Mikkiju”, Shirley Perreault. Until we see your beautiful smile once more, may the wind always be at your back and the sun shine upon your face.

Family and friends are invited to share in a celebration of Joseph’s life, Saturday, July 24, 2021 at the D. W. Merritt Elementary School, Addison, at 1 p.m.
