BANGOR - Jonathan Deveau Sr., 45, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at a Bangor hospital on Thursday, December 17, 2020. He was born November 23, 1975, in Bangor, he son of Michael Deveau Sr. and Carol Kent.
Jonathan grew up in the Bangor area and developed an early passion for swimming. He was a member of the YMCA and Bangor High swim teams and later attended Husson College. Jon was happiest when he was spending time with his family. From snowmobiling and camping in his youth, to family vacations and organizing trips to the movies for the latest blockbuster as an adult, Jon always wanted to be surrounded by his loved ones. He spent his summers at camp on Fields Pond and enjoyed taking the family dog, Maggie Mae, on long walks along the waterfront.
Jon is survived by his mother and stepdad, Carol and Steve Kent; father, Michael Deveau Sr., and his significant other, Kathy Gray; brother, Michael Deveau Sr.; son, Jonathan Deveau Jr.; maternal grandfather, Jack Shone; paternal grandmother, Virginia Deveau; as well as many loved aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jon was predeceased by his brother and best friend, Daniel Deveau; maternal grandmother, Jacqueline Shone; paternal grandfather, Donald Deveau; and aunt, Cynthia Deveau.
There will not be a wake or funeral at this time. The family will hold a private celebration of life in the spring.
