John F. Turner, 91, left this world Wednesday February 7th 2024 to be reunited in heaven with the love of his life, Mona Rae Turner, who passed away on November 7th 2013. He was comfortable, cared for, and surrounded by his adoring family.
John unknowingly has spent the past 10 years teaching those around him what the meaning of true love really is.
He brought life and laughter into every room he entered, somehow making each person feel as if they were the most important one there. The many years in his band “Johnny Turner and the Country Roads” left him a beautiful, friendly following and understanding that the world was his stage. His witty banter and childlike jokes were unmatched and left us all simply just loving Johnny. When John passed his family felt peace and smiled knowing that his decade of wishes was coming true… he was going to see and squeeze “The Nan”. The mark he has left on the hearts of those who knew him will never be forgotten, nor could they ever be matched, as the charm of Johnny Turner was once in a lifetime.
John is survived by his son, Peter Turner and his girlfriend, Clare Gagnon; daughter, Kim Costain and her husband, Will; granddaughter, Erica Snow and her husband, Jeff; grandson, Jonathan Brothers and his fiancé, Nicole; step-grandsons and their families, Tanner and Garret Costain; his great-grandchildren, Paxon and Presley Snow and Carson and Zoey Brothers; his supportive and wonderful family in Connecticut, Thomas “Tonchy” Turner and his wife Debra, as well as their son “little Tonchy”. In addition to his wife of 57 years, John was predeceased by his great nephew, Shane, whom passed away in 2021 loving his “Uncle John”.
To all of his life long friends at the lake, a sincere thank you for helping watch over him. Our sweet Pupa, may both your feet be planted in the clouds of heaven as you and Nana watch over all of us and help guide us toward our “Happy Day”.
