DANVERS – Jean F. Sturtevant, 80, passed away May 22, 2019, at a Maine healthcare facility, after a brief battle with cancer. She was born January 11, 1939, in Danvers, the daughter of Ronald F. and Doris L. (Anthony) Sturtevant.
Jean graduated from Danvers High School, Class of 1957. Following high school, she attended Burdett College in Boston, earning a Business Degree, graduating top of her class. Jean was an entrepreneur who owned a consignment shop in Danvers. She was an avid traveler, enjoying Hawaii and Europe. She also traveled the continental U.S. regularly. Jean was active in the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Easter Seals community. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Diane (Sturtevant) Wiggins, and Irene Hubicz; and a nephew, Jeremy Wiggins. She is survived by a children, Amanda Sturtevant of Danvers; and Benjamin Shove of Gloucester; two sister, Carol (Sturtevant) Brousseau of North Andover, and Donna (Martin) Smith of Whitwell, Tennessee; a brother, Wayne Sturtevant and wife, Ellen of Boxford; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the entire staff of Brewer Center for Health and Rehabilitation of Maine, for their exemplary care they provided to Jean in the last months of her life.
