BUCKSPORT – Jane Claudia Folmer, 75, wife of the late Carl J. Folmer, Jr., died October 3, 2017 at a Bangor hospital with family at her side. She was born in Freeport, Maine December 3, 1941, the daughter of the late Harold and Hazel (Branch) Grover.
She graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School in 1960, then served honorably in the U.S. Army where she met her loving husband. After moving to Gouldsboro, Maine she worked at the Winter Harbor Naval Station. In retirement, she and Carl traveled extensively around the country exploring, visiting family, and making friends. They resided in New Jersey, North Carolina, Germany, Colorado, Oklahoma, Maryland, Arizona, and Maine. During the last years of her life, Jane enjoyed puzzles, her favorite television programs, trips with her daughter, Caroline, and spending time with her great granddaughter, Sadie.
She is survived by her children, Jerry Folmer of Waltham, Maine; Cindy Folmer of Arkansas; Caroline Cushman and husband, Bud, of Bucksport; and Carl Folmer III of Maryland; her grandchildren, Eric and wife, Amy; Brad and Troy Folmer; Christopher Bergeron and wife, Alyssa; Cristi Moore and husband, Ben; Craig DeForest and husband, Stephen Davis; Zachary, Audra, and Ethan Cushman; as well as her great grandchildren, Lucas, Samantha, Blake, Aiden, Elijah, Caden, and Sadie; her siblings, Harold and Joseph Grover, Marie (Tony) DeSalle, Patricia (Lawrence) Young, Irene McLelland, Robert (Doris) and Paul Grover; and a special sister-in-law, Martha Dush. She was predeceased by brothers, James and Francis Grover.
Services will be private for the family.
