GLENBURN – James “Jim” R. Paschal, 66, died peacefully March 28, 2019, at a Bangor healthcare facility following a brief battle with lung cancer. He was born January 23, 1953, in Bangor, the son of Robert K. and Virginia (Gass) Paschal.
Jim graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1971 and was a 1973 graduate of Eastern Maine Community College with an Associate of Business degree. He held various jobs in the area, including American Eagle Airlines, Penobscot County Sheriff's Office, Brewer Automotive Components, White Mountain Cable Company, and most recently Brewer Walmart.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, George and Maxine Gass; paternal grandparents, Charles and Ida Paschal; a very special cousin, Kevin Paschal; as well as several aunts and uncles.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Samantha Paschal and her son, Easton James Gilbert, of Levant; his sister, Tina Guay and brother-in-law, David, of Bangor; niece and godchild, Courtney Guay Evans, and her daughter, Delaney Evans, of Bangor, niece, Ashley Guay and her son, Parker Gomm, of Eddington; special aunt, Margaret Paschal, of Bangor; special cousins, Keith and Cindy Paschal, of Corinth, special cousin, Chuck Paschal, of Glenburn; Nicole Chatfield, of Kenduskeag, and Sarah Haskell, of Levant, whom he lovingly referred to as his "other daughters;" as well as several aunts and cousins.
The family would like to give special thanks to CancerCare of Maine, Ross Manor/Waterman Unit and Marjorie and staff of Northern Light Homecare and Hospice for their care of Jim.
In keeping with Jim's wishes, there will be no funeral services.
