Eddington – James Everett “Beetle” Bodge, 89, died peacefully surrounded by family September 14, 2017. He was born August 12, 1928, in Bangor, the son of James Wallace and Katherine (Locke) Bodge.
Beetle was a heavy equipment operator, retiring from the City of Bangor after 28 years of service. He was an avid bowler, and loved watching the Red Sox and Patriots. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
In addition to his parents, Beetle was predeceased by his wife, Janice (Dort) Bodge, his daughter, Cheryl (Bodge) Vaillancourt, and his grandson, Rodney Knox, Jr. He is survived by his sons Steve and his girlfriend, Bridget, of Eddington, and Steve’s children, Heather Bodge of Bangor, and Katrina Haines and her husband Phil, and their children Ava and Lillian, all of Greenfield, and Doug and his girlfriend Amanda, of Greenbush, and Doug’s son, James of Brewer; Cheryl’s children, Jennifer Yanofsky and husband Adrian, and their children, Amy and Ian, all of Eddington, and her son EJ Vallancourt; and a brother, Paul W. Bodge and his wife Mary, and their daughters, Trisha, Anne Marie, and Eileen.
Services will be private for the family.
