Gloria I. (Rice) McLeod, 86, passed away March 18th, 2022, at her home surrounded by family. She was born in Glenburn, Maine, on November 21st, 1935, the daughter of Wallace H. and Muriel I. (Long) Rice.
Gloria worked at J.J. Newberry for three years, then worked at Sampsons/Shop and Save in Brewer for 28 years before they closed. She also worked at Home Gas for two years. She enjoyed camping, bowling, playing bingo and playing cards with her friends. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting. She loved all her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
She is survived by her son, Thomas H. Sproul and his wife, Linda Sproul, one grandson; Eric Sproul and his girlfriend, Carrie, and her daughter, Willow, one granddaughter; Megan Green and her boyfriend, Brandon; three great-grandchildren; Madyson Green, Connor Green, and Colby Sproul, and one brother; Wallace Rice.
The family would like to thank Nancy, Melissa, and all the Hospice workers who lovingly cared for Gloria. There will be no service at this time, but gifts in Gloria’s memory can be made to the Northern Light Homecare and Hospice program: 885 Union St, Northern Light Healthcare Mall, Suite 2 Bangor, ME 04401
