CARMEL – Gerald P. Mayhew. 83, passed away peacefully at home March 14, 2024. He was born July 26, 1940, in Carmel, the son of Perley and Alice (Wing) Mason.
Gerald spent most of his life as a carpenter. He enjoyed outdoors, gardening, country music, coffee brandy, and his beloved dog, Alie.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Georgia (Knowles) Mayhew; daughters, Laurie (Chet), Kelli, Shani and her husband, Stacy Emerson grandchildren, Leif, Joshua, Jeremy (Candy), Amber (Tyler), and Jessica; great-grandchildren, Kaleb, and Kamryn; brothers, Galen (Elinor) and Roy; sisters, Carol (John), Helen (Danny) and Ronda; sisters-in-law, Susan and Reubena; brother-in-law, Ernie (Cathy); extended family, Shawn, Michele (Bob), Jill (Phyllis), Holly and Ronnie Jarvis, Georgia and Rena; and many other nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his stepfather, Ronnie; sisters, Priscilla and Lorraine; sisters-in-law, Ellen, Julia and Justine; brothers-in-law, Merwin and Bill; niece, Michelle and nephews, Alton and Tim.
A Celebration of Gerald’s life will be held at a date and time to be determined, at the Carmel Snowmobile Club, 194 Hampden Rd., Carmel, Maine.
