Bangor - Elmer Edward Smith, Jr., 75, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2024, at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center, surrounded by his family. He was born September 26, 1948, in Fryeburg, Maine.
He enjoyed spending time with family, helping people, fishing, fixing lawn mowers, going to the Fryeburg fair, playing slot machines, and Bingo. Elmer was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He retired from Eastern Fine Paper.
Elmer was predeceased by Cynthia (Susie), his loving wife of 46 years, his parents Elmer Smith Sr. and Hazel (Quimby) Dunham, and his brother Edward Smith.
Elmer is survived by his children Tammy and her husband Ron, Edward and his wife Amy, Sherri, and Amy; grandchildren Angela, Robert, Ashley, Dustin, Brandon, Colby, and Kayla; great grandchildren Abigail, Aiden, and Riley; siblings Ricky and his wife Sonia, Beverly and her husband Arthur, Joyce, Susie, Darlene, and Burleigh; stepmother Eleanor; mother-in-law Connie; in-laws Sandra and her husband Paul, Robin, and Steve and his wife Dawn plus many other loved family members.
Thank you for taking care of everyone you loved and for giving a helping hand to anyone who needed it. You will be greatly missed.
