Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Melvin, 89, wife of Floyd W. Melvin, died peacefully at her home on August 20, 2024. She was born November 29, 1934 in Brewer, Maine, the daughter of the late George and Marion (Gott) Rudge.
Betty loved her camp on Green Lake and traveling to the Caribbean. She was an amazing quilter, gardener and artist. Above all, she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Floyd Melvin; her son, Gary Melvin and his wife, Sherry; daughter, Pam Lane; sister-in-laws, Rose Melvin and Polly Rudge; grandchildren, Julian Melvin, Andy Lane and his wife, Victoria, Gary Lane and his wife, Nelson, Ben Lane, Abby Yacubacci and her husband, Corino; as well as four great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her brother, George Rudge.
There will be a private service. Gifts in Betty’s memory may be made to St. Joseph’s Hospice P.O Box 403 Bangor, Maine.
