Dover-Foxcroft
It is with great sadness that on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, our Mom Elizabeth A. Blanchette peacefully passed away surrounded by her family and was reunited with our Dad Albert and our brother Kimball...
Elizabeth “Betty” or as Dad called her “Momma” was born on January 17, 1933 to parents Charles A. and Julia S. Bowman of Mattapoisett, Massachusetts.
She and Albert met and married on June 19, 1954 and the rest is history! She was a homemaker and mother of 9 children who kept her busy!
Mom loved to crochet and knit. As kids we can remember listening to the radio station WPRO with Salty Brian. We get our love for music from her.
She is predeceased by her husband, son, parents and a brother Charlie.
She is survived by her children Dianne Wyman (Bruce) of Greenville, Philip (Stephanie) of Auburn, Mark of Canton, Jeffery (Sandy) of Dexter, Gilly of Massachusetts, Victoria Waite (Danny) of Canton, Bethany Griffin of Florida and Randy of Westbrook. There are 18 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and the good friends and people she met along the way.
Mom and Dad were originally from Massachusetts and in the 70’s moved to Canton, Maine. They also lived in Florida and came back to Maine settling in a few different towns. They loved traveling the backroads. Never knowing where they would end up....it was an adventure for them. After Dad got sick the adventures had to stop. It was when Dad passed that Mom’s health started to turn...she lost her partner and life wasn’t the same.
Now they are together again and at peace...Travel on Mom and Dad...the heavens are your back roads!!...
We would like to thank Pleasant Meadows in Dover-Foxcroft for the care they have given her these past few years and also thank Beacon Hospice for all the support and compassion shown to Mom and our family during a very difficult time.
A graveside service will be in the early summer for both Mom and Dad....<3
