Elaine C. Bertolino (Benedict), 71, passed away January 29, 2021 in Bangor, Maine. She was born September 1, 1949 to Herman and Ruby (Hazel) Benedict.
Elaine met James Bertolino in 1969 and they married May 3, 1970. Over the next 50 years they filled their lives with love, family and friends who became family! She flawlessly coordinated countless fun-filled trips to Canada, Gloucester, Point Sebago, Saddleback, whitewater rafting, Las Vegas, and many other places for her family to enjoy!
Elaine was everything: Wife, Mom, Grammy, Friend and the life of the party!
Everything she did was for her family and she did it with all the love she had for life and those around her. She treated everyone like family. Countless friends called her Mom or Grammy as that was the role she happily filled. There were no strangers in Elaine’s life…only friends she had yet to meet!
Elaine is survived by her husband of over 50 years, James “Bert” Bertolino, son Jim Bertolino, grandchildren James, Isabella and Ruby, of Brewer, ME; daughter Jessica Murphy and her husband Bill of Portland, ME, and her brother Herman Benedict of Marshfield, MA. She was predeceased by her parents and 2 siblings.
She will be forever missed by everyone in her family, extended family and community throughout the US and Nova Scotia.
