Doris Giddings

May 14, 1938 — February 5, 2019

Winterport- Doris Marie Giddings, 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at her home. She was born May 14, 1938, in Attleboro Mass., the daughter of Emerson and Helen (Forand) Ducharme, of Brockton Mass.

Doris, also known as "Dottie" to close friends and family, enjoyed working with her hands making things. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening and watching westerns with her daughter, Bonnie. She also loved traveling and taking trips to the Maine coast, and above all, she loved her family.

Doris was married twice, once with Bonnie's father, Roland Bailey and later, after Roland's passing, a widowed Doris married Rodney Giddings. Doris and her first husband Roland, shared many years together while Roland served in the US Navy. They enjoyed traveling the east coast together. Later they retired and settled in Maine with their young daughter, Bonnie. Later on through the years, while married to her second husband, Rodney, Doris helped start up what would soon become a successful "mom and pop" style business, known as Country Bargains.

In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by her first husband, Roland Bailey; and second husband, Rodney Giddings; a step-daughter, Karen; Siblings, Emerson Jr., Helen, Harold, Sister in-law, Linda, Brother in-law, Bob.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Perry; siblings, Priscilla, Fred, Mel, and Nancy; as well as many nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Danny, Joey, Trina and Rachel and Robert; seven great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held in the spring.
