Donald Morin

Donald Clement Morin, 82, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2015, after a long illness. He was born on October 21, 1932, in Old Town, Maine, the son of Clement and Francis (Beaulieu) Morin. Donald attended Old Town Schools and was drafted into the Army in January 1953. He married his childhood sweetheart, Patricia Mae (Martin) Morin, on June 19, 1953, and they both returned to Fort Sill, OK, where he was stationed for two years. After the Army, Don attended auto-diesel college in Nashville, TN, where he received certification for diesel automotive and welding. In 1957, Don started working with his brother, Robert, at R. J. Morin Plumbing and Heating and continued until his retirement in 1998. Don loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed more than 50 years of hunting seasons at the family camp in Greenfield, Maine. He always planted a garden and loved making pickles with his wife, Patty. Donny had a special spot on the coast where he loved to dig and cook clams with his family. He was always ready to help anyone who needed it, whether it be a plumbing or heating problem or neighborhood projects. Don was recently predeceased by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 62 years, Patty and prior to that, his sister’s Helen (Morin) Brissette and Marguerite (Morin) Bradford. He leaves behind many special nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors and one very special brother and sister-in-law, Robert J. Morin and his wife Lois, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Paul and Irene Martin and sister-in-law Ruthann Martin. He was also blessed with three children, Carl Raymond Morin of Greenbush, Steven Eric Morin and Kelly Jane Paradis and her husband, Kevin, of Old Town. The joy of his life was his five very special grandchildren, Adam Paradis and his wife Sonali of Bangor, Brendan Paradis of Augusta, and Chad Paradis of Old Town, and Brittany and Justin Morin both of Tempe, AZ and one very special grandson, Jacoby Adam Paradis. Per Don’s wishes, there will be no service or viewing hours. The family will celebrate his life quietly, just as he would have wanted it. Don loved the outdoors and passed that love onto his children.
