MARS HILL - Donald E. Anderson, 89, passed away, April 10, 2016. Don was born, November 7, 1926, the youngest child of David & Sadie (Graffam) Anderson.
Don joined the U.S. Navy in his junior year of high school and served for 2 years. He returned to Aroostook Central Institute and completed his senior year where he met the love of his life, Winnifred May Brayson.
An electrician by trade, Don worked for the Mars Hill Power Co., Rumford Light & Power Co., and completed his career as Electrical Shop Foreman at Loring Air Force Base in Limestone.
Don loved to dance and enjoyed attending dances at the Fire Station and surrounding area halls.
Don was married to Winnie on June 30, 1950 in Easton. They raised four children: Dennis (Deb), Nathan (Marti), Andy (Bonnie) and Cindy. They have 10 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of TAMC, Mars Hill, for the love and care they provided.
There will be a memorial service at the Mars Hill Methodist Church in June. Those who wish to remember Don in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the Community Food Cupboard, 20 Main St., Mars Hill, ME 04758. Condolence to the family may be expressed at www.Memorial-Alternatives.com.
