Dean Richard Long
1/17/1995-7/5/2024
On July 5th, our beloved Dean was called home after succumbing to a fatal car accident. He was the only son and youngest child to Tammy Long of Newport and Dean (Julie) Long of Lubec.
Deano (as he was affectionately called by all) never knew a stranger and his charismatic charm, wit and sense of humor would draw you in and he became an instant friend. Growing up with 5 older sisters, he learned quickly how to demand attention and was known for his Joe Dirt fashion and was a natural entertainer. He was always the life of the party, had the most infectious smile and lit up any room he walked into. His suave dance moves were unbeatable and he had the best one liner comebacks. It didn't matter who you were, he was always there when you needed him. He loved the outdoors, whether it be hunting, fishing or riding anything that made him feel the wind in his face. He loved his Hot Pockets, playing softball and making people laugh. He loved bonfires, mud runs and karaoke and just enjoyed anything as long his friends were there. He had a soft spot for children and they all gravitated to him. He will be sorely missed by all, young and old.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by 5 sisters, Lisa (Ricky) Cray, Amy (Shawn) Hughes, Heather (Tad) Long (Fellows), Heidi Long and Destiny Long. 2 step brothers David and Jamie O'Brien, 13 nieces and nephews and 8 great nieces and nephews. Aunts, Kelly (Eric) Lyons, Stacey (Tim) Cole, Belinda (Allen) Long-Russell, Lolly (Geo) DeCastro and Angel Aubin. His Grandmother, Cheryl Gilmore, a special great aunt, Alana Patrick and many very special cousins.
Deano will be especially missed by his beloved dog Luna Belle and his best friend Todd Wark and countless additional friends.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Robert (Red) and Joyce Long, maternal grandfather Ken Gilmore, maternal great grandmother May Gilmore and cousin Tanner Russell. He is now reunited with his special friend Buck Charles, who he missed terribly.
Please join us for his Celebration of Life on August 11th at 3pm, at Randall Farm LLC 1075 W. Plymouth Rd, Etna.
