David Roger Peers,
Mars Hill
David R. Peers, (73) passed away on September 28, 2021 at a Bangor hospital. He was born February 16, 1948 in Mars Hill, the son of Charles L. and Elizabeth M. Peers.
David graduated from Central Aroostook High School, Class of 1966. Following graduation, he served in the National Guard during the Vietnam War and continued to serve for many years to follow. David attended Northern Maine Vocational school for two years then moved to Bangor where he attended two years of cosmetology school to become a Barber. David was particularly proud of studying abroad in Europe where he trained and became a certified Roffler Stylist. His was a truly talented Barber and it became his craft and years later the dream and finally the reality of the House of David was born.
Transformed from a garage attached to the family home, The House of David became a landmark in the small town of Bangor and home to the Bangor High School swim teams champion crazy cuts year after year. David never knew a stranger and anyone who may have entered the shop as a customer left as a friend. He always had jokes to entertain you with, a contagious laugh and the happiest looking sparkling blue eyes. He had a wonderful presence and brought so much joy and laughter to those around him.
Always up for a road trip, David traveled near and far throughout the course of his life and called a few different States home. He built many fond relationships and memories along the way. He was able to spend time with family in Scotland and explored Belgium, Germany, England and France. He traveled all over the US from New England to golf trips in Myrtle Beach, to homes in Florida and Arizona in different seasons of his life.
David lived life to the fullest while he could and will always be remembered for his sense of humor and most importantly his loving, good nature. He never fell short on telling those he loved that he loved them.
David is survived by three daughters, Breeanna Locke and her husband, Joe, of Bangor, Maine; McKayla Hauber and her husband, Chad, of Sanford, North Carolina; and his stepdaughter Alex Kouumdjieva and her husband Val of Glendale, Arizona. Four special grandchildren: Gabriel, Emma, Jaxon and Katia.
His life partner and the love in his life, Pam Parks Codrey who was so devoted to him and brought so much joy and continued adventures to his life. He had many nieces and nephews that were special to him.
In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his brother and best friend Charles “Roy” Peers.
There will be no service at this time per David’s wishes, may you remember him best by sharing fond memories here for family and friends to view and cherish.
