Clyde R. "Buz" Cox, 94, passed away on June 5, 2024. He was born on May 7, 1930 in Sherman, the son of Raymond and Pauline Cox.
Buz spent his early years on the family farm in Sherman Mills, Me.
He graduated from Sherman Mills High School, class of 1947. Buz married Marion Cunningham and they had 4 children.
Buz was employed as a commercial truck driver for most of his working years. He was named Maine’s Truck Driver of The Year in 1976 and received various safety record awards.
When not on the road, Buz enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In 1973, he married Joan McLean. They enjoyed 48 years together in Eddington and Florida.
Buz was predeceased by his parents, his siblings Cedric Cox, Thurman "Herbie" Cox, Eda Langlois, Glenda Gadbois; his wife, Joan and his stepchildren Dawn McLean and Bobby McLean.
He leaves behind his sister Verda Keene, his children Clyde "Buzz" Cox, Jr. and wife Rose of Ellsworth, Cara McCarty and husband David of Hermon, Tamara Clark and husband Alan of Knox, Tommy Higgins and wife Vicki of Hollis Center; stepchildren Mike McLean and wife Brenda of Millinocket, Ronnie McLean and wife Wanda of Sun City, AZ, Lynne Gammon and husband Rick of Gorham, 15 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
