Enfield – Charlene E. Priest, 97 passed away November 6, 2023 at a Dover healthcare facility. She was born on November 2, 1926 in Enfield, Maine. Daughter of Frank and Bertha Butler. She was a devoted wife to Sheldon Priest for 64 years until his passing on June 21, 2010. Charlene and Sheldon traveled many years for his career until returning to Maine in 1975. She was a talented baker and cook, her recipes will live on through her family for many years to come. She made countless wedding cakes for family, friends, and community members. In recent years she loved being the “oldest Butler ever” and sharing family stories with her nieces and nephews. Charlene was predeceased by her husband Sheldon and her son Keven. Charlene is survived by her daughter-in-law, Michelle of Lincoln and her grandchildren, Keith and his wife Heather of Augusta, Scott of Enfield, Shannon White and Sidney of Orrington, Andrew Emery of Hampden, Jeremy and Angela of Lowell, and several nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Charlene resided at Sweet Seniors in Millinocket for the last eight years, her family is truly appreciative of the love and care the staff gave her. Per her request, memorial services will not be held. Sheldon and Charlene were active in the Boy Scouts for many years.
