MILLINOCKET - Calvin C. York, 78, lost his battle with cancer on September 16, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family. A natural sweetheart, Calvin was born on Valentine's Day February 14, 1943, in East Millinocket, to Bernard and Eudora (Thompson) York.
Calvin graduated from Schenck High School Class of 1962. Following graduation, he served in the National Guard, and married his sweetie, Donna Albert. They started a family and settled in Millinocket in 1965, where he worked and retired in the Millinocket mill. Calvin was a lifetime member of 52 years at the Millinocket Lodge of Elks #1521. He loved camping, fishing, hunting and tending his garden. Unfortunately, this year he was unable to put in his garden so his best buddy, Dave, planted and tended it for him.
In addition to his parents, Calvin was predeceased by his brother, Reggie. Surviving, are his wife of 56 years, Donna (Albert) York; his daughter, Tammy and her husband, Keith Moody, of Baileyville; his son, Bill and his wife, Michelle York, of Cornish; four grandchildren, Aaron, Craig, Kalob and Annie Moody; his sister, Brenda and her husband, Andy Mayhew, their two daughters of Hermon; and a nephew. Calvin also left behind his good buddy, David Streams who helped make his last few months the best he could have had.
Calvin requested there be no services at this time as he and Donna wish to do everything together.
