Becky Jean O’Neil passed away unexpectedly on February 2nd, 2021 at her home in Clifton, Maine.
Becky was born in Chicago, Illinois, on February 11th, 1965 to Wayne and Vicki O’Neil. She grew up in Baileyville, Maine, with her two younger siblings Paul and Vera. After graduating from Woodland High School, Becky moved to Bangor, Maine, where she met her first husband, Daniel Stillman. Becky and Dan constructed their dream home in Sullivan where they had two children, a daughter named Dylan, born in June of 1993, and a son, named Bailey, in May of 1995. In addition to being a very dedicated and loving mother, Becky spent 10 years “lovin’ on her Corgi puppies” at Kathy Donovan’s Kennel, Volunteering at Downeast Aids Network in Ellsworth, and greeting Desert Storm Troops at Bangor International Airport.
In 2009, Becky met a wonderful man by the name of John Lowery. They would spend the next 12 years together at their beautiful home on Chemo Pond in Clifton, Maine. They were married on February 17, 2018. John’s two sons, Maverick and Malachi, were two of Becky’s greatest joys.
During her 15 years at The Crocker House Country Inn, in Hancock, Maine, Becky formed many strong relationships and friendships with her co-workers and those who frequented the lively establishment. Becky had an undeniable drive and love for helping others, so it was no surprise that in 2010 she started taking classes to become a Medical Assistant. Once certified, Becky spent her last years working as an integral and loved employee at Penobscot Indian Health Center on Indian Island, Maine. She loved her job, those she worked with, her patients and especially loved the community.
Becky will be remembered for many things: her love of animals, our nation’s veterans, Mother Nature, and always rooting for the “underdog”. On any given day, Becky could be found reading, soaking up the sun, gardening, cooking, or indulging in whatever hobby she had most recently taught herself to do. Becky was a consistent projector of positive energy, often sharing inspirational quotes and ideas with others. She was deeply involved in her children’s lives and truly loved their significant others, Megan and Frank.
Becky is survived by her husband, John Lowery; her children, Dylan and Bailey Stillman; stepsons, Maverick and Malachi Lowery; parents, Wayne and Vicki O’Neil; sister, Vera Johnson; nieces, Jillian and Laney Johnson; and dear friend, Dan Stillman. She is predeceased by her brother, Paul O’Neil; and her sister, Ivy O’Neil.
