Alma Weston

July 27, 1932 — November 24, 2014

BANGOR - Alma "Boots" Weston, 82, passed away peacefully, November 24, 2014. She was born July 27, 1932 in Gardiner, Maine to George and Jennie (Ladner) Moreshead. She is predeceased by both of her parents, her husband Arthur "Bud" Weston Sr., her son, Arthur "Artie" Weston Jr. and three special sister-in-laws, Renie, Louise and Dawn. She is survived by her five siblings and sibling-in-laws, Edmund Moreshead of Bangor, Ida and Ken Wiley of Harpswell, Nonie and Myron Smith of Litchfield, Gail and Terry McDougall of Brunswick, Herb and Linda Moreshead of Gardiner, Shirley Ann and Peter Hanley of Randolph and Bonnie and Phil Hayes of Manchester. She will be especially missed by her three children, Beth Weston of Bangor, Tina Weston of Bangor, Steven Weston of Belfast and a very beloved grandson, Ryan Weston of Bangor.
She was a 1950 graduate of Gardiner High School. Following her graduation, she held many different jobs, eventually retiring as a Guidance Secretary from the Bangor School Department. She especially enjoyed her position as Administrative Assistant to Mary Dyer at the Bangor YWCA. During her married life, Boots was very active in community service with both the Jaycees, eventually becoming Maine State Treasurer, and the Merriettes of Gardiner. Boots enjoyed dancing, bridge, crafting, celebrations and plants and flowers. She could grow or revive anything to a state of beauty. Her sense of humor and enjoyment of fun was always evidenced in her smile, laughing and dancing. The family would like to personally thank the various caregivers that showed compassion, caring and concern, especially Doctors Sauvage, Krauss, Brooks and Khuneizi, as well as Melissa, Stephanie and Jenny. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, December 1st, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Camden, Maine, 55 Free Street, Camden. She loved flowers, and any would be more than welcome, or perhaps a donation to the Arthritis Foundation , to help find cures and reliefs from the various forms of arthritis.
